Welcome to the Lucky in Love Blog Hop!
To enter the giveaways, follow the instructions under "Grand Prize Giveaway" and "My Prize Giveaway" below.
The Lucky in Love Blog Hop runs from 3/15-3/18, 2013.
I think I've been pretty lucky in love. When I was twenty years old, I met my husband at a bar called Cheers. (No, not the one from the TV show. LOL) We started dating soon after, and we've been together ever since. It hasn't been all hearts and roses, but we have two beautiful, smart, confident teenagers, and hey--we're still together. That must count for something, right? Seriously, I think our relationship keeps getting better and better as we grow, mature, and learn to communicate in a more effective and caring manner.
In my book, Under His Command, the hero and heroine are a couple who've hit a communication wall in their rocky marriage. After five years, they still haven't learned to be honest and trust each other with their deepest and darkest needs. To some people, this may seem to be an unbelievable situation. I say more power to them. If you and your partner have always had an honest and open relationship, you are truly lucky in love. :)

Since we're celebrating St. Patrick's Day, I'd like to say a little word about my FREE novelette, Guns 'N' Tulips. This story takes place St. Patrick's Day and I use some of the Irish holiday's symbolism, so it's kind of a fun short book to read at this time of year.
Officer Connor Kavanagh lost everything—his badge, his friends and his fiancée—when he agreed to go undercover with the mob and infiltrate the ruthless Bank Bandits. After months of scheming and strategizing, the day of the big heist—and Connor's chance to get his old life back—finally arrives, but right from the start, Connor's plans fall apart. Even worse, the woman he loves is trapped in the crosshairs of the Bank Bandits' murderous leader, and Connor is her only hope for survival.
Do you think the luck of the Irish will hold for Connor? Can he accomplish his mission and be reunited with the woman who means everything to him? Download it today and find out if Connor will be lucky in love... or not.

My Prize
Today, my prize is an ecopy of Dana Delamar's Revenge (Blood and Honor). Why? Because the hero of this book has gone through hell. Despite that and against all odds, he's lucky in love, not once but twice.
A woman on the run. A damaged Mafia don. A rival bent on revenge...
Kate Andretti is married to the Mob--but doesn't know it. When her husband uproots them to Italy, Kate leaves everything she knows behind. Alone in a foreign land, she finds herself locked in a battle for her life against a husband and a family who will "silence" her if she will not do as they wish. When her husband tries to kill her, she accepts the protection offered by a wealthy businessman with Mafia ties. He's not a mobster, he claims. Or is he?
Enrico Lucchesi never wanted to be a Mafia don, and now he's caught in the middle of a blood feud with the Andretti family. His decision to help Kate brings the feud between the families to a boil. When Enrico is betrayed by someone in his own family, the two of them must sort out enemies from friends--and rely on each other or die alone. The only problem? Enrico cannot reveal his identity to Kate, or she'll bolt from his protection, and he'll be duty-bound to kill her to safeguard his family's secret.
Attacks from without and within push them both to the breaking point, and soon Enrico is forced to choose between protecting the only world he knows and saving the woman he loves.

I haven't been lucky in love, but my sister is a great example. She has been married for 36 years and still they love each other (probably more now). They are thoughtful of each other and love to spend time together. They have 3 married kids and 8 grandkids with 1 more on the way that they adore. They travel or just spend time together.
ReplyDeleteThey sound absolutely lovely, Sandie. Great example! I hope your day will come too. :)

DeleteI've been happily married for the past 600... I mean 6 years (you know how it is, sometimes it feels like 600, but it's all good :P )and this was after being married before to a high school boyfriend for many years, which didn't work out very well at all, so you could say I was lucky, unlucky, lucky, unlucky... etc and currently now quite lucky. Hopefully all that makes sense!

ReplyDeleteI have been lucky in love. My Irish husband and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary in December. He is what I love about St. Patrick's Da:)
ReplyDeleteMy lucky love is my husband of 23 years. When we first met I had just had a very bad break up with my last boyfriend. I spent most of the evening telling him what I would and would not put up with in a relationship. He asked me out in spite of my attitude, and the rest is history. We got married 5 years later and are still very much in love. So yes I can say I was and am lucky in love. Thanks for being part of the hop and for the chance to win. <^_^>

ReplyDeleteJessieL62(at)comcast(dot)net
What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I'm working on it. My favorite love book is "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty's Day and this year I'm spending it with my best friend. We're going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I'm not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I'm not at all. I won't be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I'm Irish.
