Deadly Addiction Release Party!!

Welcome to my release party! I'm so happy and excited to finally announce the release of Deadly Addiction, the second book in my Deadly Vices romantic suspense series.

Writing this book took a lot of time and a tremendous amount of research. In the process, I made many new friends and learned so much about the First Nations People of Canada, both their struggles and victories. Rémi Whitedeer is a hero like no other, and Alyssa Morgan is the only woman for him. I hope you enjoy Rémi's and Alyssa's story.

Synopsis

A proud people. A nation divided.

Rémi Whitedeer, police officer turned substance-abuse counselor, dreams of restoring order to his tribe. Violence and crime are rampant throughout the unpoliced Iroquois reserve, and a civil war is brewing between the Guardians, a militant traditionalist group, and other tribal factions. As the mixed-race cousin of the Guardians’ leader, Rémi is caught in a no-man’s land—several groups lay claim to him, but all want him to deny his white blood.

A maverick cop on an anti-drug crusade.

When she infiltrated the Vipers to take down the leader of the outlaw biker gang responsible for her brother’s death, police sergeant Alyssa Morgan got her man. But her superiors think she went too far. Her disregard for protocol and her ends-justify-the-means ethics have branded her an unreliable maverick. To salvage her career, she accepts an assignment to set up a squad of native provincial officers on a reserve.

A radical sovereigntist bent on freeing a nation.

Decades of government oppression threaten the existence of the Iroquois Nation. But one man, Chaz Whitedeer, is determined to save his people no matter what the price, even if it means delving into the shadowy world of organized crime.

When Rémi and Alyssa uncover the Guardians’ drug-fueled scheme to fund their fight for true autonomy—a scheme involving the Vipers—Rémi must choose between loyalty to family and tribe or his growing love for Alyssa.

Can Rémi and Alyssa leave everything behind—even their very identities—for a future together?

Excerpt from Deadly Addiction

Closing her eyes, Alyssa pressed the glass of water to her neck. “I can do the talking if that makes you feel any better.”

Although Rémi heard the words, it would have taken an act of Parliament to get him to respond.

The heat of her skin caused the condensation on the glass to liquefy. Like a tractor-beam, his gaze followed a drop of water as it slid down the long pale column of her neck, followed the curve of her right breast and slipped under the collar of her blue cotton T-shirt into the V of her cleavage. Oh fuck. He wanted to be that drop of water. He wanted to be snuggled between her warm ripe breasts. His cock swelled and lengthened, letting him know that it wanted to be there too.

He squeezed his lids shut and willed his hard-on away. This wasn’t the time and certainly not the place for Mr. Happy to make an appearance. But the more he tried not to think about where the drop had gone, the more he did. He’d thought he was a leg man, but he knew the truth now. It had slapped him in the face. He was a breast man. An “Alyssa’s breasts” man, and he fucking wanted to see them, to feel them, to taste them. Right now.

    1. Thank you for joining us! The research for this book was so much fun an enlightening. I think my favorite thing was going on a drive-along with a tribal officer on a reserve in Montreal. I'd never driven in a squad car before!

  7. Kristine, I'm reading Deadly Addiction right now and it's a suspenseful book. I'm really loving it. I'll definitely be reading your new book :)

As to what kind of characters I like. I like the Alpha type males which have a kind heart and maybe he doesn't see himself as an Alpha. Maybe he still sees himself as the geeky or shy kid and doesn't notice the effect he has on others. And I like the ordinary looking female heroines, not the 'always beautiful female' that men are crawling over each other to get to. Maybe she only has an ordinary occupation or does bland every day stuff, until she needs to find strength in doing something extraordinary, like many people do. That hidden inner strength.

  12. Congratulations! I am looking forward to reading Deadly Addiction. Based upon Deadly Obsession, I am certain it will be a success.

Also, it is great that both books are being published as paperbacks. I found Deadly Obsession and you based on ebook recommendations.

    1. Marijane - I'm so glad you can comment now :) Thank you for your wonderful compliment. I like to have the books published as paperbacks in addition to ebooks so that my readers have a choice of formats. My family is in Canada and only 1 or 2 have ereaders, so if I want them to read the book, it has to be in print, LOL.

I hope you enjoy Deadly Addiction. Good luck with the giveaway!

    1. Rhonda - I get a kick out of alpha males too. The tougher the better :D But I also like the softer guys and gals who get thrown into crazy situations where they have to dig deep inside themselves and sometimes pull out parts of themselves they'd rather pretend didn't exist! Thank you so much for your kind words. I hope you enjoy Deadly Addiction!

  19. I used to live near Liverpool NY, the council seat for the Iroquois Nation. They always had longhouses at the NY State Fair, and I did a lot of research on the 5 tribes. They were matrilineal, (descendents declared via the mother's line) and only the women's council could declare war. I can't wait to see what you've done with their history.

    1. Deborah - I'm so happy you could stop by. I so appreciate your comments. I found them to be a fascinating people both in their history and their present. As a society, we've learned a lot from the Iroquois regarding democracy and women's roles. I'm really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Deadly Addiction. Thank you and good luck with the giveaway!

    1. Sini, I'm so glad you could stop by! Regarding Finland, are you looking for the print book? It's very difficult for us to get our print books out of the US without having to charge a very high price. But you should be able to get the ebook. I'm very curious about all of this. If you can tell me how you usually buy your ebooks, I'll check if one of the vendors has it. Thank you and good luck with the giveaway!

But really, I just like good solid characters period because I read from Erotica to Historicals to Steampunk. Doesn't matter to me. a good book is a good book period.

    Congrats on the release!

    1. Lizzie! Welcome to the party :D I love your comment - big bad and can kick ass. That's exactly what those of us who like alphas want--a man who can protect his woman! And yes, a good book is a good book. I like to read a variety of stories as well, and like everything in the world, if every book were about an alpha hero, Id get bored. Thank you so much for stopping by and good luck with the giveaway. I really appreciate all your support!
